Coach receives warm welcome at home town

Phagwara, Aug 27 (UNI) A warm welcome was accorded to the chief coach for Wrestling P R Sondhi at the Railway station as he arrived in his home town from the Beijing Olympics, proud of the achievement that his desciple Sushil Kumar won the Bronze Medal.

District Wrestling Association President Bharpur Singh Bhogal, Secretary Hari Mittar Bilga besides Phagwara SDM Amarjit Pal were among those present at Phagwara Railway Station to receive and welcome the International Wrestling Coach.

Later talking to journalists at his residence, Sondhi stressed the need for establishing of Wrestling Academies at district levels on Haryana pattern to promote wrestling.

Coach Sondhi also stressed that Mud Akharras should be replaced by Mat Akharra on which international standard wrestlings were being performed.
