Bridge course mooted for school dropouts
Chandigarh, Aug 27 (UNI) Haryana Chief Secretary Dharam Vir today suggested to start a bridge course for the children who have dropped out from their schools so that they could resume their studies.
The Chief Secretary was interacting with the officers of District Administration, Sirsa through video conferencing.
He said the state government had implemented many schemes to check the school drop out rate, especially of the children belonging to the families of scheduled castes, backward classes and minority communities.
The schemes implemented in the educational sector had shown very positive results, he added.
He said the scholarship scheme would also be implemented for the Backward Class (Category 'A') students on the similar pattern as has been decided in case of the students belonging to Scheduled Castes.
He directed the officers to ensure that the students should not drop out from schools and they should continue their studies.
He asked them to prepare an action plan to provide more facilities in the government schools of their concerned areas and strengthen the educational infrastructure of the district.
