Bomb scare at Saurashtra Stock Exchange

Rajkot, Aug 27 (UNI) An anonymous letter, received by the Saurashtra Stock Exchange today, threatening to blow up the building here, near the Sadar Bazar, turned out to be a hoax call.

City Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha told UNI that the inland letter written in Gujarati, to the President of Saurashtra Stock Exchange, in the name of SIMI, threatened to blow up the stock building. The letter was posted from Vadodara.

A Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs were pressed into service and a thorough search was conducted at the building but nothing was found, Mr Sinha said.

Security has been beefed up at all strategic points, such as railways, malls, multiplex buildings, the commissioner said.

Meanwhile, at Porbandar, Police today found two-bags, abandoned near the Bus-station. Search of the bags yielded old clothes, bottles of 'sharbats' (Juice) and Gutkha pouches, a report from Porbandar said.
