BJP demands disqualification of suspended party MLAs
Ranchi, Aug 27 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Arjun Munda today submitted an application to Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Alamgir Alam demanding disqualification of suspended party MLAs from the House.
Mr Munda in his application said necessary action should be taken against suspended party MLAs Ravindra Rai, Kunti Singh and Pradeep Yadav.
All the three were suspended because of their proximity to former Chief Minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) president Babulal Marnadi.
Earlier, the party had demanded action against two others-- Vishnu Bhaiya and Manohar Tekriwal-- who had been suspended from the party for the same reason.
Significantly, Mr Bhaiya and Mr Tekriwal shifted their allegiance to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Shibu Soren who had waged a war against former Chief Minister Mr Madhu Koda in a bid to take over the reins.
On August 21, a party delegation had given 24-hour ultimatum to Mr Alam to take final decision on the membership of suspended party MLAs facing anti-defection charges.
