2 SBI Dumariyaganj branch officials suspended
Siddharthnagar, Aug 27 (UNI) Two officials of the State Bank of India (SBI) in the district's Dumariyaganj branch were today suspended over the detection of crores of fake currency notes.
The suspended bank officers included branch manager Dashrath Chirgaiya and accountant Ashok Kumar Sagar.
Earlier, Dashrath was transferred, while Ashok was demoted.
On August 4, a team of senior RBI officials had reached the SBI and seized counterfeit Indian currency worth Rs 20 lakh from the branch's main chest in Siddharthnagar district.
Later, on further screening, fake currency worth over Rs two crore was found.
