Tripura Forward Bloc rejoined Left front
Agartala, August 26 (UNI) Tripura Forward Bloc has rejoined Left front ahead of byelections in the state.
Tripura is going to poll on September 16, for three seats in Autonomous District Council (ADC), four in Nagar Panchayats, one in Agartala Municipal Council, eight in Panchayat Samitis and two in Zila Parishad besides 116 seats in Gaon Panchayats and 33 in the village committees.
Forward Bloc had parted from Left Front following a dispute over seats sharing in the assembly elections and contested in 13 constituencies against their candidates.
Left Front sources here today said that two senior Forward Bloc leaders attended our meeting on Sunday that discussed strategies for the forthcoming byelections and agreed that CPM would contest all the three seats in the ADC.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tripura Forward Bloc Shyamal Roy said that even when we contested the polls separately, we never said we had parted company with the Left Front.
