Rupee dips to a 17 month low against USD

Mumbai, Aug 26: The Rupee fell to a 17-month low at 44.07/08 against US Dollar, depreciating by 28 paise, from its previous close of 43.79/80 per dollar, on negative market sentiments in the opening trade.

The domestic unit weakened beyond 44 per dollar, weighed down by wobbly Asian stocks and sutained demand for the dollars from corporates and oil refinaries, dealers said.
