K'taka Govt failed to tackle drought situation: Cong
Bangalore, Aug 26 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council V S Ugrappa today alleged that the BJP government had failed to tackle drought situation prevailing in many parts of the state.
Talking to reporters here, he alleged that the government led by B S Yeddyurappa was busy in carrying out its 'Operation Lotus' to lure the Legislators from Opposition parties and was not bothered about the welfare of the people.
It had also ''failed'' to implement the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the state effectively, he added.
Mr Ugrappa demanded that the government take up relief works on war-footing by providing drinking water and food in areas affected by drought and floods.
