HP earmarks Rs 594 cr for SC Sub Plan
Shimla, Aug 26: The Himachal Pradesh Government would spend Rs 594 crore under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan for the welfare of the targeted sections during the current financial year.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal while addressing a review meeting of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department here last evening said that an increase of 157 percent has been made in the budgetary provisions for the current year, enhancing the same from Rs 231 crore of previous year to Rs 594 crore during the current year, an increase of Rs 363 crore.
He said that Rs 176.41 crore had already been released by the Government.
Mr Dhumal said that Rs 6.50 crore had been released to all the Deputy Commissioners of non-tribal districts for construction of Bhimrao Ambedkar Bhawans in every assembly constituency.
He said the Government has decided to construct Bhimrao Ambedkar Bhawans in every assembly constituency at a cost of Rs 10 lakhs each with a total provision of Rs 6.80 crore, as a mark of respect to the great personality.
