Groom jailed for six months for wedding night street brawl!
London, Aug 26 : A groom has been sentenced to six-months imprisonment for being a part of a fight that saw his bride arrested on their wedding night.
The bride Pamela Morris ended up head-butting a woman on her wedding night, "then being held in jail until being given bail earlier this month," reports the Scotsman.
Morris and husband John, 29, were celebrating their wedding day at Bentley Hotel in their hometown drinking with friends on April 5.
Morris "still wearing her wedding dress" got into an argument with Gail Pilling at the pub's bar.
But when the couple left the bar, they encountered Pilling and her friend Nicola Dickson in the street.
A brawl "which was captured on CCTV" erupted, and the Morrises and their friend Margaret O'Rourke, 35, were arrested.
The newly wed couple and O'Rourke returned to Hamilton Sheriff Court where Sheriff Small sentenced six-month imprisonment to John.
O'Rourke of Bellshill has been put on probation for 18 months long with 100 hours' community service to her, while sentencing on Pamela was deferred until September.
