Dolly Parton "alive and well" despite death reports
Washington, Aug 26 : Legendary singer Dolly Parton is still "alive and well", despite rumours circulating on the Internet that she's dead.
The 62-year-old singer's rep shot down the reports insisting that the star had died at a Tennessee hospital from congestive heart failure.
David Dotson, president of the Dollywood Foundation in Tennessee said that the reports are false.
On being asked about the source of the rumours, Dotson said he has "no idea whatsoever."
"It came out of the blue on Friday night. I have no idea who or why it started or spread like it did. The most important thing is it's a rumor," Fox News quoted him, as saying.
Parton wrapped up her Backwoods Barbie concert tour on August 17 with a performance at Dollywood. She's on a two-month break before resuming the tour in Orlando, Fla., on Oct. 18.
