Cong not to interfere in Haryana SGPC issue: Amarinder
Amritsar, Aug 26 (UNI) The Congress would not interefere with the ''purely religious'' demand of Sikhs in Haryana for a separarte Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal should also desist from politicising the issue, former Punjab chief minister Amarindar Singh said here today.
Seeking a separate body to manage their shrines was a ''religious matter of 13 lakh Sikhs in Haryana and they should be allowed to decide upon the matter, Capt Singh told mediapersons here stressing that Congress had no intention of getting involved in the matter.
''However, we would not ignore the sentiments of our voters and the party would always raise voice to protect their interests, '' said Capt Singh, who was interacting with the media after paying obeisance at the Golden temple during his first visit to the holy city after being given the charge of poll campaign in Punjab by Congress High Command.
