Centre to raise allocation for national highways in Manipur
New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) The Centre will raise the allocation of funds for the improvement of national highways in Manipur from Rs 13 crore to Rs 40 crore during 2008-09.
This assurance was given to Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh when he called on Highways Minister T R Baalu here today.
The Minister also agreed to accord additional sanctions of works for improvement of Imphal-Moreh road (NH-39) and also NH-150 leading to Imphal Airport.
Mr Baalu also assured the Chief Minister that his Ministry would consider other proposals of the State Government depending upon the resources, an official release said.
