Bihar Governor injured in road accident in Amritsar

Amritsar, Aug 26 (UNI) Bihar Governor R L Bhatia today received minor head injury when his car banged into the pilot car near Ranjit Avenue on way to airport.

The accident occurred when the pilot car suddenly came to a halt after being hit by a speeding vehicle coming from the opposite direction, police sources said.

While Mr Bhatia received minor injury on his head, seven police personnel, travelling in the pilot car which was hit from both the sides, were badly injured, they said.

All were rushed to a nearby private hospital from where Mr Bhatia was discharged after being given first aid.

He was taken to airport in another vehicle and leter he left for Delhi.

The police personnel, Inspector Gurjit Singh, SI Charanjit Singh, four constables and driver constable Kuldip Singh were admitted to the hospital. The condition of the driver was serious, the sources said.
