BC families also to get free plots: Hooda

Chandigarh, Aug 26 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to launch a new scheme for giving 100 square yard residential plots to the families belonging to Backward Classes (Category 'A').

The scheme would be implemented on the similar pattern as has been decided in case of the families belonging to Scheduled Castes.

The scheme would be launched on November 14, the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, the Chief Minister said while addressing a gathering of people belonging to different communities of Backward Classes Category 'A' at his residence.

In all, people belonging to 71 castes of Backward Classes Block 'A' of Haryana would be benefited.

Mr Hooda said that the communities belonging to backward classes-A constitutes a major part of country's population which mainly comprised of artisans.

Due to industrialisation, the employment opportunities of these people had declined.

The decision of the state government which was taken for the welfare of these communities would go a long way, he added.
