Trainee cop dies mysteriously

Barackpore, Aug 25 (UNI) Mysterious death of a trainee constable has shocked Bengal's biggest police training college at Latbagan (Mangal Pandey Uddyan) here.

Twenty-one-year-old Vijay Sharma from north Bengal, who was undergoing training at Latbagan campus, yesterday succumbed to his injuries in the R G Kar Medical College Hospital where he was admitted on August 22.

Vijay was found lying with injuries at the foot of a three-storied residential camp building of the 3rd Battalion of State Armed Police force on August 22.

While none could tell, how and why a trainee came to the SAP building and sustained injuries, the officials though confirmed that the cop died in the city hospital but did not give details how the deceased got there.

A case of unnatural death was lodged with the local police station.

The body was sent for post mortem.
