Three extortionists held
Hyderabad, Aug 25 (UNI) Sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone team, today apprehended three extortionists and seized one sword, a dagger and 24 cell phones from them.
Acting on a tip-off, the team arrested Mohammed Javed Khan, Akthar Hussian and Mohammed Abdul Raheem while they were moving under suspicious circumstances at Al-Madina Hotel, Vatepally, Falaknuma in the city.
The modus operandi of the accused were to identify financiers and collection agents of private finance companies, threaten them with deadly weapons and make them fear that they were running illegal business.
They would then rob the money and valuables from their possession. Later, they would identify the owners of the finance companies with the help of collection agents, kidnap the financiers and extort money from them. They led a lavish life with the extorted money, police added.
