Newspersons' wait for Chiranjeevi proves futile!

Chennai, Aug 25 (UNI) It turned out to be a long wait which finally went in vain for some newspersons and many from television channels who rushed to the Chennai airport late this evening on hearing that Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi was to proceed to Tirupati from here.

Mr Chirnajeevi is all set to launch his new political party in Tirupati tomorow evening after offering worship to Lord Venkateshwara at Tirumala.

The media supposed that Mr Chiranjeevi was to proceed to the world-famous temple town by road from Chennai late tonight. The newsmen thronged the airport in the belief that the actor was to arrive from Hyderabad at 2230 hours. But that was not to be.

Some newspersons even checked the list of passengers to arriving from an Air Deccan flight at 0130 hours. But the actor's name, either as Chiranjeevi or by his real name Gowri Shankar Shastri, was not found in the list and the reporters had to return.

Another version had it that Chiranjeevi was proceeding to Tirupati via Bangalore.
