Jaipur serial blasts: SIMI regional head arrested
Bangalore, Aug 25: Break through in May 13 Jaipur Serial Blasts case. On Monday, Aug 25 police arrested a SIMI(Students Islamic Movement of India) activist named Shahbaz in connection with Jaipur Serial Blasts. This is the first arrest in this case. He was arrested from Lucknow. Police took him to Jaipur.
Shahbaz is believed to be the regional head of SIMI. On May 13, 2008 six serial blasts rocked the pink city of Jaipur killing more than fifty people and injuring 150. Earlier Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje on Aug 19 said that a breakthrough is achieved in the case and is expecting the result soon. Meanwhile on Monday, Aug 25, Supreme Court of India has extended the ban on SIMI for six weeks.
