Hot and humid day with slight showers greet Delhiites

New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) A hot and humid day greeted the Delhiites today and even light showers in the evening brought no respite from the sultry and sticky weather, with the temperature reaching a high of 35.5 degrees Celsius.

Though the minimum temperature for the day remained at 28 degrees, which was two degrees above normal, humidity at 92 per cent saw people sweaty for most part of the day.

Even as a cloudy sky remained for much of the day, humid conditions with even the minimum level reaching 63 per cent continued for the third consecutive day making the day hot and uncomfortable for the people of the capital.

According to the weathermen, partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunder showers is expected during the next 24 hours.

After a humid weather earlier last week, the national capital has witnessed light to moderate rainfall in the latter part of the week, bringing the Delhiites some respite from the sultry conditions, but it was back to the same weather conditions with the fresh week starting today.
