Health officials assess Dengue situation in Gurgaon
Chandigarh, Aug 25 (UNI) A team of the Haryana Health Department today visited Gurgaon to take stock of the situation about the outbreak of dengue in the city and the measures adopted to control it.
The team, led by Senior Regional Director Amarjit, had a meeting with Civil Surgeon S S Dalal and District Malaria Officer Krishan Kumar.
Dr Amarjit said that his team would stay in Gurgaon for two days and conduct a survey in the dengue-affected areas to know the cause of the disease and the steps taken by the health authorities to curb its further spread into new areas.
District Malaria Officer Krishan Kumar apprised the team that during this season, 303 suspected cases of dengue were reported in Gurgaon. Of these, 205 were found suffering from the disease and a majority of them have been cured. However, two patients died of the disease.
He said currently about 32 dengue patients were receiving treatment in various hospitals of the city.
