Forest officer murdered in Palamu

Daltonganj, Aug 25 (UNI) Unidentified assailants killed a forest officer of Betla Tiger Project near Purinadih village under Rehla police station area in Jharkhand's Palamu district late last night.

Police today said deceased Lalan Prasad Gupta was returning from Tisibar village, under same police station area, when a group of miscreants attempted to rob him.

The miscreants gunned down the forest officer who resisted them and took away four mobile phones and about Rs 5,000 in cash.
