First Congress list by mid-September
Jaipur, Aug 25 (UNI) The first list of Congress candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly Election is expected to be released by the second week of September, Party State President C P Joshi said here today.
Talking to reporters, Mr Joshi said the first meeting of the Party State Election Committee would be held here tomorrow to initiate the formal process of selection of the party candidates and deciding other poll-related issues.
Members of the Party Screening committee, including Chairman, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Madhusadam Mistry and SS Naik, would also participate in the meeting as special invitees.
Mr Joshi said the political atmosphere in the state was already in favour of the Congress and the ruling BJP was heading for a sure defeat.
