Composite index of metals and energy rise

Mumbai, Aug 25 (UNI) The composite index of metals and energy was up by 0.95 per cent at 2783.94 points, at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Gold February 09 contract was up by 0.15 pc to Rs 11,930 per 10 grams and silver September 08 contract gained by 0.13 pc to Rs 20,079 per kg.

Metal contracts, too, gained today. Aluminium September 08 contract was up by 0.91 pc to Rs 121.80 per kg, copper November 08 contract by 1.48 pc to Rs 335.25 per kg, lead September 08 contract by 1.68 pc to Rs 84.70 per kg, nickel August 08 contract by 1.87 pc to Rs 920.50 per kg and zinc October 08 contract was up by 1.11 pc to Rs 82.10 per kg.

Crude oil September 08 contract was up by 0.92 pc to Rs 5044 per barrel.

Cardamom September 08 contract declined by 1.27 pc to Rs 682.25 per kg, coriander November 08 fell by 1.87 pc to Rs 8,502 per quintal, menthe oil September 08 by 1.30 pc to Rs 639.70 per kg, jute September 08 contract was down by 1.96 pc to Rs 1,604.50 per quintal and soyabean September 08 contract fell by 0.54 pc to Rs 2,572.50 per quintal, MCX release stated.
