Canara Bank employees stage demonstration against outsourcing
Bangalore, Aug 25 (UNI) Members of the Canara Bank Staff Union today staged a protest demonstration against the management's move to outsource the work of collection of cheques from local branches in the city.
The bank's accounts section in Bangalore was handling more than 40,000 cheques, amounting to crores of rupees daily and all such instruments had been handled by permanent employees of the bank, Union Assistant Secretary K Nagaraj Shanbhague said, in a release, here.
He said the issue of outsourcing has been opposed at the apex level itself and if the management did not withdraw the decision, the Union would intensify the agitation.
