About 100 TN fishermen detained in AP

Chennai, Aug 25 (UNI) About 100 fishermen, hailing from Kasimedu and Royapuram areas in the city, were detained by the authorities of Andhra Pradesh, while they were fishing in their territory.

Police sources said the fisheremen had inadvertently drifted into the Andhra side when they were detained by the authorities at Chennarpalayam in Nellore district.

Representatives of fishermen associations have rushed to Nellore to hold talks with the authorities and secure the release of Tamil Nadu fishermen.
