2nd anniv of prof's murder
Ujjain, MP, Aug 25 (UNI) Students' organisations and teachers' unions have organised a condolence meeting tomorrow on the local Madhav College premises to mark the second anniversary of death of Professor Harbhajan Singh Sabharwal there in violence following abrupt postponement of a students' union poll.
The case is being heard at Nagpur in neighbouring Maharashtra.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's then Madhya Pradesh president Shashiranjan Singh Akela and five others. The state government even ordered a Crime Investigation Department probe.
During the final phase of hearings in the District and Sessions Court, the deceased's son Himanshu submitted a plea in the Supreme Court urging that the case be heard in a non-Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state.
