Last rites of slain soldier on Aug 25
Bangalore, Aug 24 (UNI) The mortal remains of Colonel Jojan Thomas, who fell to the bullets of terrorists in a fierce encounter in Kashmir on Friday, would be buried in the city tomorrow.
Hundreds of people visited the colonel's home in the city after his body was flown in last night.
The 43-year-old Colonel was killed in a fierce battle between militants and the quick reaction team of 45 Rashtriya Rifles which he was leading.
His team killed six militants but the officer was also fatally wounded in the encounter.
The body would be taken for funeral service at St Geroge Kanaya Syrian Church at Domlur in the city.
