Fee structure for six medical colleges modified

Kochi, Aug 24 (UNI) The Fee Regulatory Committee headed by Mr P A Moahmmed today announced the modified fee structure for six self-financing medical colleges which entered into an agreement with the Kerala Government.

Under the new schedule, the fees would range from Rs 4.37 lakh to Rs 4.71 lakh ( as against the previous figure of upto Rs 2.5 lakh) for seats under the management quota. For the Government Quota, it would be Rs 45,000, Mr Mohammed said at a press meet here.

'' The decision follows an emergency meeting of the Admission Supervisory Committee and Fee Regulatory Committee yesterday in view of the situation the government could not obtain approval for the consensual agreement entered into between the government and the Medical Management Association as contemplated in Clause 14 of the agreement,'' he said.

Under the agreement, the mangements would surrender 50 per cent of the seats to the government.

The total seats available in the six medical colleges under the Government Quota would be 275.
