Call to State, Union Govts
Chennai, Aug 24 (UNI) Former Supreme Court Judge, Mr Justice K Venkataswami and the Former Madras and Gujarat High Court Chief Justice, Mr Justice P R Gokulakrishnan, today called the Union and State Governments to utilise the services of retired judges.
Attending the IV National Conference of All India Retired Judges Association (AIRJA)and VAnnual General Body Meeting of the Tamil Nadu Retired Judges Welfare Association (TNRJWA) here, both the judges said the experience of the retired judges should used for clearing lakhs of cases pending in the subordinate courts in the country.
''The judges are savers of the sovereignty of the country and are dedicated to provide justice to the poor and rich equally,'' the former judges said.
They called upon the retired judges to raise their voice in one to redress their grievances and urged the office bearers of the association to invite present judges for conferences in future.
