3 lakh robbed from Jewellery merchants

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 24: A four member gang robbed Rs three lakhs cash from jewellery merchants at knife point at suburb Edamalaipatti Pudur here on Saturday, Aug 23. Police said that Mr Senthil Kumar and his brother Muthu Kumar, hailing from Thammampatti in Selam District, had come here to purchase gold coins and were waiting for their friend Mani when the incident took place.

The miscreants, who came in a jeep, threatened them at knife point and snatched away the bag containing the cash. A case has been registered and police are investigating.
