TN allots 8.23 crore for development works
Perambalur, Aug 23: Tamil Nadu Government today allotted Rs 8.23 crore for executing various development works at 26 villages in this district of Tamil Nadu under the Irrigated Agriculture Modernisation and Water Bodies Restoration and Management Project, according to the District Collector Anil Meshram.
In a statement here, Mr Meshram said Rs 5.36 crore had been allotted to the Public Works Department(PWD) for desilting and repairing irrigation tanks.
The irrigation tank, spread over 95 acres in Sengunam village would be desilted and improved at an estimated cost of Rs 44.35 lakh. This would benefit about 127 acres of agricultural land, he added.
