Student stabbed to death

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) A college student was stabbed to death by unidentified people at Pant Nagar in eastern suburb of Ghatkopar late last night, police said today.

Police have identified the victim as Sayyed Sohil Ali, student of Jhunjhunwala College at Ghatkopar.

Senior Police Inspector attached to Pant Nagar police station Nagesh Lohar said they received a call at around 0015 hrs that a youth was lying in a pool of blood near the garden behind Pant Nagar police station.

Following which, a police team rushed to the spot and saw Sayyed Sohil Ali lying in an unconscious state with a deep stab wound around his neck. He was immediately admitted to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment at 0115 hrs, Mr Lohar said.

A case of murder has been registered, he added.
