Safdar Nagori handed over to Gujarat police
Satna, MP, Aug 23 (UNI) Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) leader Safdar Nagori was today handed over to Gujarat police by Rewa jail authorities.
A 26-member police team had arrived from Gujarat to take Nagori for interrogation in connection with recent serial blasts in Ahmedabad. He was taken from Rewa jail to Gujarat amid tight security.
Five SIMI activists lodged in different jails in Madhya Pradesh had been remanded to Gujarat police custody by Dhar Chief Judicial Magistrate S S Thakur yesterday.
Safdar Nagori and 12 other leaders of SIMI were arrested from their hideouts in Indore, Pithampur (Dhar) and adjoining areas few months ago and were since lodged in jail.
