Barwani, MP, Aug 23 (UNI) A darul ulam madarassa's incharge principal and a student were arrested on the charge of contempt of the National Flag on the Independence day in this district's Sendhwa area, police said today.

''In-charge principal was presented in the court of judicial magistrate where he was freed on bail while 14-year-old student would be presented at Jhabua-based Juvenile Court,'' Sub Divisional Officer (Police) Rajiv Kumar Mishra said.

Bajrang Dal and Nagar Satsang Chief Dilip More complained that the tricolour was unfurled in the madarasa with green colour at top on August 15. Police reached the spot and registered the case under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act,1971 Section 2.

Darul Ulam Madarassa is government recognised and 700 students have been studying here. Most of the students had gone to their native places following Ramzan holidays on August 15.

''The student unfurled the flag in the presence of in-charge principal,'' he added.
