NO scarcity of funds for developmental activities:Yeddyurappa
Shimoga, Karnataka, Aug 23 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said that there is no scarcity of funds for taking up developmental works in the state.
He was speaking after laying foundation stones for "Bhadravana" at Bhadra Reservoir Project (BRP), KSRTC Hi-Tech Bus terminus and inaugurating New Building of R.T.O. office here.
Mr Yeddyurappa said that the Rs 60 crores project "Bhadravana" will be developed in the model of 'Brindavana' of KRS near Mysore.
He said that the development of this project will be taken in two phases.
The Chief Minister ordered the Deputy Commissioners to suspend on the spot those officials who fail to implement the government projects in time or who will be found corrupt.
He also instructed the Taluk level officers, and Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners to take whole Taluk Office to Hobli centers all the Saturdays except Second Saturday in order to avoid the difficulties facing by rural people to wandering Taluk office and D C offices.
Mr Yeddyurappa ordered DCs to issue handicapped certificates to the affected at their respective native places and see that the funds allotted to the respective developmental works were spent in the same year.
He said that Rs 120 crores has been sanctioned for construction of foot path, children garden and Park etc. at either side of river Tunga amidst the Shimoga city for the public utility.
Mr Yeddyurappa said that the government was contemplating to set up a power project to generate 1000 MW in Shimoga. "I am in search of suitable land in and around Shimoga.
