Militants form 'task force' in Manipur
Imphal, Aug 23: Two militant organisations of Manipur have announced the formation of a ''joint task force for the welfare of the people.'' Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) general secretary Namoijam Oken and United National Liberation Front (UNLF) general secretary Narengbam Thabal, in a joint statement, alleged that the state government was unable to discharge its duties properly.
''For the welfare of the people, the KYKL-UNLF Central Committee discussed various issues and decided to form three Joint Task Forces (JTF) for Medical and Health (MH), Human Resource (HR) and Economic Programme (EP),'' the statement said.
