Fresh polls only option in Jharkhand: Ravishankar

Raipur, Aug 23 (UNI) Expressing concern over power politics being played out in Jharkhand, senior BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad today demanded fresh assembly elections in that state.

Mr Prasad told a press conference here today that JMM supremo Shibu Soren was playing ''politics of forming opportunist alliances'' in order to become Jharkhand Chief Minister. This was not in welfare of Jharkhand.

He said five independents had done a lot of damage to the state by running the government. Fresh elections were the only option and must be held under the President's rule.

In a lighter vein, he added that after the Indo-US nuclear deal, the country was talking about the Jharkhand deal.
