Curfew lifted in Jammu, Samba districts

Jammu, Aug 23: The Jammu and Kashmir administration today lifted curfew completely in the twin districts of Jammu and Samba, official sources said here.

''Following the Janamashtmi celebrations on August 24, the administration has lifted the curfew in Samba and Jammu districts,''a Government handout issued here said.

An indefinite curfew was imposed in Jammu and Samba districts on August 1 following violence on the Amarnath forest land row.

However, the night curfew would continue in the areas falling along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway in Samba district and Udhampur town to ensure smooth movement of trucks to and from Srinagar, sources said.
