497 fruit-laden trucks leave Srinagar, 809 arrive in Valley

Srinagar, Aug 23 (UNI) As many as 1404 trucks, including 497 loaded with fruit, left here for Jammu and other parts of the country during the last 24 hours, an official spokesman has said.

The fleet also included, 94 trucks with vegetables and 223 with other goods and 590 empty tankers after off loading fuel, which left the summer capital during the same period.

Meanwhile, 809 trucks carrying essential commodities, fuel and fresh fruits arrived in the valley, he said.

Of these, 141 trucks carried rice, 47 flour, 53 sheep, 35 chicken and 24 fresh fruit. Along these, 58 tankers carrying diesel, 47 petrol, 32 kerosene oil, two aviation fuel, 45 LPG and three milk also arrived here.

As many as 267 trucks with other merchandise also reached here.
