Trial against Haj House Imam begins before new Judge

Mumbai, Aug 22 (UNI) The trial of the Haj House Imam Gulam Yahya, allegedly involved with Kashmiri militants, today began before a new Judge A S Patankar at a fast track court here.

Deposing before the court, Sub-Inspector of police, attached to the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), Anand Khere, during his cross examination by defence Advocate A N Mishra, told the court that he was a member of the team who had nabbed three Kashmiri militants three years ago from a hotel at Nagpada in South Mumbai and recoverd arms and ammunition from them.

The cross examination was inconclusive and the court adjourned the hearing till August 30.

It may be recalled that the earlier Judge A S Agarwal had framed charges against the accused and also recorded the statement of the witnesses, but he was transferred within two months after the trial began.
