497 fruit trucks, 809 load carriers ply on Kashmir highway
Srinagar, Aug 22 (UNI) As many as 1404 trucks, 497 of them loaded with fruits, left the Kashmir Valley for Jammu and other parts of the country in the last 24 hours, an official spokesman said today.
He said 94 trucks with vegetables and 223 with other goods and 590 empty tankers after off loading fuel left the Valley.
He said while 809 trucks carrying essential commodities, fuel and fresh fruits arrived the Valley in the past 24 hours today.
Of them, 141 trucks carried rice, 47 flour, 53 sheep, 35 chicken and 24 fresh fruits. Besides, 58 tankers carrying diesel, 47 petrol, 32 kerosene oil, 2 aviation fuel, 45 LPG and 3 milk also arrived here.
As many as 267 trucks with other merchandise also reach Srinagar.
