13 arrested in connection with vehicle lifting
Bhopal, Aug 22 (UNI) Thirteen people were today arrested and 23 vehicles worth Rs 8.5 lakh seized from Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
Those arrested include eight people who purchased stolen motorcycles.
Superintendent of Police Harinarayan Chari Mishra said special team had been constituted in view of increase in number of vehicles being stolen.
The police team included Additional SP Pankaj Srivastava, City SP Shivkumar Verma, Kotwari inspector R K Rai and constables Ajay Akela, Mahendra, Vinod and Lakshmi.
Vivek (21), an engineering student from Vidisha, is chieftain of vehicle lifters gang.
Interrogation revealed that the culprits used to lift vehciles from Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore, Balaghat and Maharashtra's Gondia.
