Shramjivi blast case: doctor summoned for testimony on Aug 27

Jaunpur, Aug 21 (UNI) A terrorist accused in Patna-New Delhi Shramjivi Express bomb blast case was today produced in a local court where the testimony of a doctor was recorded and another witness summoned on August 27.

The July 28, 2005-blast near Halpalganj-Singramau railway station in the district had killed at least 14 people and grievously wounded 90 others.

Alamgeer alias Mohd Roni, presently lodged in Tihar Jail, appeared before Additional District and Sessions Judge (III) Rajendra Chandra under tight security, where testimony of Dr R A Chakravarti, who treated the eight victims of the blast, was recorded.

However, fixing August 27 as next hearing date, the court summoned Dr R K Agarwal for recording his statement.

Meanwhile, judicial custody of Roni has been extended.

There are total 48 witnesses in the case.
