Orissa receives investment proposal for Biotech sector
Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (UNI) As many as 40 industrial houses have expressed a keen interest to invest in the Bio-Technology sector in Orissa, state Science and Technology Minister Dyurdhan Majhi informed the Assembly today.
Replying to a question of Congress MLA Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, the Minister said a Hyderabad-based company Bharat Biotech International Ltd and a US-based company of a non-resident Oriya Next Generation Technology Industries Pvt Ltd had proposed to invest Rs 93 crore and Rs 1,200 crore respectively.
The Minister said the proposals were under the active consideration of the government.
Meanwhile, the government, he said, had planned to set up a Biotech Pharma IT Park at Andharua on the outskirts of the capital city.
