Cabinet nod to amendments to unorganised workers' bill
New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved for implementation the Unorganised Sector Workers' Social Security Bill, 2008, which will facilitate formulation of social security schemes for the unorganised workers.
''We hope the Bill will be cleared in the next Parliament session,''Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
The new Bill will be brought in Parliament by making official amendments to the Unorganised Sector Workers' Social Security Bill, 2007, pending in the Rajya Sabha.
Mr Dasmunsi said most of the parliamentary standing committee recommendations had been incorporated in the amendments.
