Police subject SIMI suspect to narco analysis
Bangalore, Aug 20 (UNI) A suspected SIMI activist, one among the seven arrested in Belgaum recently, was today subjected to narco analysis test by the state police at the government Bowring Hospital here today.
Police sources said the test was conducted by the experts from Forensic Science Laboratory and it went on for nearly four hours.
However police refused to give details on outcome of the test.
The test was done in the wake of nine suspected SIMI activists arrested by Gujarat police, out of which one belonged to Karnataka.
All the seven arrested have been brought by Belgaum police to the city to subject them to apart from narco tests, brain mapping and polygraph tests.
Liyakat Syed, said to be a leader of the SIMI outfit, was the one who underwent the test. FSL director Dr Malini conducted the procedure.
Apart from these seven, there are 12 other suspected SIMI activists, who were arrested by Hubli police earlier, in jail facing trial.
