Koirala urges NC members to play active role in safeguarding freedom
Kathmandu, Aug 20 (UNI) Nepali Congress president and former prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala has urged the party leaders to play active role in consolidating the hard won democracy in the country.
During the meeting with the party leaders at his residence in Maharajgunj, Mr Koirala urged the party leaders to be active for the consolidation of democracy and safeguarding freedom.
The NC leader said the Maoists Prime Minister Prachanda had not included the Congress in the all-party inspection team to visit flood area of Sunsari today.
The Congress president also instructed the party leaders to visit the area and help the flood-affected people from their sides.
A team of the Nepali Congress involving senior leaders is leaving for Sunsari today, he said. The relations between NC and the Maoist have been sour eversince the CPN(M) emerged as the largest party in the recently held election and decided to exclude Nepali Congress in the government.
