Jade gets 100,000 UK Pound to participate in 'BB-2'

Mumbai, Aug 20 (UNI) Jade Goody, the participant from the UK in the reality show 'Bigg Boss 2' on Colours, is believed to have received 100,000 Sterling Pounds to participate in the show.

Goody, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer yesterday after having undergone tests at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Essex in early August, had agreed to participate in the show for huge sum to support her two sons.

''Despite awaiting her test results, the reality star proceeded with her trip to India because she needed the money to support her two sons,'' said official sources.

Goody was undergoing tests due to concerns about her health following a series of mystery collapses. It is her third such cancer scare, following tests for bowel cancer in 2006 and ovarian cancer in 2004. On the earlier two occasions, she was given the all clear.

She decided to go ahead and take part in the show, unable to turn down 100,000 UK Pound pay packet, and try to make amends for the race row with the show hostess and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

She had admitted her fears in an interview just two days ago she flew to India. She said, ''I know going to India sounds crazy, and a lot of people will criticise me for it, but I have to pay my bills.

And if I do face cancer, I need to make sure I can support the boys.

It's really hard not knowing what is happening. I'm trying to block it out and not to get too depressed.'' Following the celebrity version of the UK show 'Big Brother' where she racially abused another participant Shilpa Shetty, who now hosts Bigg Brother 2', Goody's money-spinning contracts had dried up, her perfume, ''Shh...'', was taken off the shelves and publishers decided to drop a paperback edition of her autobiography.
