HUJI associate arrested in Agartala
Agartala, Aug 20: The city police have arrested a Bangladeshi national in possession of an identity card of Harkat-Ul-Jihad-Islami (HUJI) from Mullapara here last night, police said today.
Police said fake Indian currency of Rs 1,500 and a telephone index containing numbers of some Pakistani and Bangladeshi people were also seized from the person, identified as Raghav Mian (22).
He entered into the Indian territory yesterday after getting information of bail granted to another HUJI activist Mamun Mian, who was arrested by West Bengal Police here in March.
During the interrogation, Raghav admitted that he had close relations with Mamun Mian and both of them were involved in faking currency and dealing arms in Agartala for a long time, police said adding he entered into Indian territory to meet the latter.
The court granted Mamun's bail on Sunday, as a CID officer failed to submit the chargesheet against Mamun Mian and did not even inform the court.
